According to the Express & Star, Ladislav Krejci has a release clause that will apply when his Wolves move becomes permanent this summer, and Leeds United are currently not willing to pay it. The figure is described as considerable, believed to be over 40 million and possibly in euros, with Leeds preferring roughly what Wolves paid.
Wolves are committed to making his transfer permanent when the loan ends, for a fee around £20 million after paying £6 million for the loan.
The Czech international was their standout signing from last summer’s recruitment, showing greater quality and consistency than other arrivals, and he also filled in midfield.
Despite a miserable campaign and relegation, he impressed for Wanderers and could be sold on in the same window.
Keeping him into 2026/27 would be a major surprise after relegation, and a top-flight move may appeal. It remains to be seen whether Wolves hold out for the full clause value or accept less.
