Leeds United have set their position on Shea Charles, making it clear to Southampton after a series of rejected bids.
The Whites made two offers earlier in the window for the Northern Ireland midfielder. yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands the latest bid, lodged in recent days, is their best and final offer.
Saints are holding out for a fee nearer their initial valuation, with suggestions they want as much as £30m. Leeds remain open to revisit if that stance changes, but will hold firm on their current proposal.
Elsewhere, reports have suggested Crystal Palace and Fulham have shown interest or are preparing bids for the 23-year-old.
Charles has 35 caps and last season started 21 Championship games, taking his second-tier tally beyond 100. He scored in cup ties against Arsenal and Liverpool, and in the play-off semi-final win over Middlesbrough before Spygate saw Saints denied a place in the Wembley final.
