Leeds United and Daniel Farke have a timely lift as Anton Stach returns from Germany duty well rested after staying on the bench against Ghana.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the midfielder earned a first Germany call-up in four years this month after an excellent debut season at Leeds, joining camps for friendlies with Switzerland and Ghana.
Competition was fierce. Stach played 10 minutes against Switzerland with the score at 3-3, and Germany won 4-3. Club team-mate Noah Okafor was an unused substitute for the opposition.
On Monday in Stuttgart he stayed unused again as goals from Kai Havertz and Deniz Undav sealed a 2-1 win. Despite eight changes under relaxed rules, Julian Nagelsmann did not use the £17million signing.
Stach has been virtually ever present for Farke, missing only a handful of Premier League matches through injury. Before the break he completed 90 minutes against Manchester City, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Brentford.
He now returns with only 10 minutes in his legs. Leeds visit West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday, then resume the league at Manchester United on Monday 13 April.
It remains to be seen how strong a side Farke selects at the London Stadium, with a potential Wembley trip weighed against the priority of survival. Victory would aid momentum, though those involved could risk injury.
Either way, Farke will welcome another international back unscathed and recharged. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has also not featured this week, having been sent back by England after his substitute outing against Uruguay.
