In a recent report, Sky Sports claimed that Leeds United are in the running to recruit Liverpool keeper Caoimhín Kelleher this summer. It is understood that the Whites are facing competition in the form of West Ham United and Brentford in the race to land the talented goalie.

Kelleher’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Kelleher served as a good squad player for Liverpool last season as he managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The Irish keeper made 20 appearances for the Reds in the previous campaign, conceding 20 goals and earning nine clean sheets in the process across multiple competitions.

The 26-year-old has helped the Merseyside club compete on all fronts over the past few years. However, he is still behind Alisson Becker in Slot’s pecking order.

Furthermore, Kelleher’s current contract at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2026. Therefore, the Whites have a good chance of recruiting the talented goalkeeper on the cheap this year.

Is Kelleher A Good Option For Leeds United Boss Daniel Farke?

Kelleher can be a safe pair of hands in between the sticks when he is playing with confidence on the field. He is a solid handler of the ball as well and doesn’t mind coming out of his lines to clear the danger when needed.

The Irish goalkeeper can use his quick reflexes to make a few crucial saves for his team at the back. However, he needs to secure regular first-team starts if he wants to prove his worth as a top keeper at the highest level.

We can expect Kelleher to enhance the quality of Leeds United head coach Daniel Farke’s goalkeeping department. He has what it takes to secure a regular starting spot at Elland Road next season.

At 26, Kelleher has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a good option for the West Yorkshire club to consider in this summer transfer period. He has already proven his value in Premier League football and won’t take much time to settle into life at Leeds United if Farke can get a deal over the line this off-season.
