According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds United remain in talks over three early summer targets, with the club braced for a two-part window.
Southampton midfielder Shea Charles is a leading option, with a £20m offer rejected at the weekend and discussions continuing for the 23-year-old. A new central midfielder could trigger an exit from Daniel Farke’s current options, and the head coach prefers a streamlined squad to protect harmony.
Captain Ethan Ampadu signed a long-term deal this summer and has been labelled the club’s most important player. Anton Stach became influential after arriving from Hoffenheim, while Sean Longstaff, Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev rotated, with Gruev’s season ended by a knee injury.
Borussia Dortmund stalwart Julian Brandt is also on the list. The 48-cap Germany international will be a free agent this summer amid Champions League interest, and Leeds hope to tempt him to the Premier League.
Harry Wilson is another free agent being tracked after a late 2025 move collapsed when Fulham changed their minds. He then delivered 10 goals and seven assists in the Premier League, and talks for the attack-minded pair are ongoing.
At an Elland Road fixtures launch, managing director Robbie Evans told supporters the club had sensed some targets not at the World Cup were keen to wrap up moves early. He added that the tournament has effectively split the summer in two, that Leeds also hold interest in World Cup players, and that next season remains about Premier League consolidation.
