Leeds United’s strong Premier League season ended with a 3-0 loss at relegated West Ham United. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke called it a 'game too far' without key players, despite Pascal Struijk and Jayden Bogle returning.

Victory would have lifted Leeds as high as 12th and extended their unbeaten run. Instead they finished 14th, respectable yet short of the high note Farke and captain Ethan Ampadu had hoped for.

Jaka Bijol stood out, defending stoutly before departing with the score at 1-0. The travelling support kept a party mood, teasing their soon-to-be Championship hosts with chants of 2026/27 opponents and applauding the team at full-time.

Brenden Aaronson struggled in the final third, twice opting poorly and sending in tame efforts, then losing a 50:50 with Crysencio Summerville. Joe Rodon, usually reliable aerially, failed to rise as a corner was converted.

Darren Emmerson DJed the warm-up, and the announcer even tried to spark half-time cheers. Fans of both clubs observed a memorial presentation, capped by a huge roar for Billy Bonds.

Ampadu shared a pre-match cuddle with referee Anthony Taylor, later made mischief with Callum Wilson at a long throw, then raged at a denied decision. He checked on Summerville after a collision, and Struijk later offered his ex-team-mate a consoling arm.

Home celebrations were laced with fury at the board and David Sullivan, and departing youngsters sang 'no VAR' on the way out.
