Leeds United face the final matchweek before Christmas with several fitness doubts, though two could be back in training soon.
According to Leeds Live, Crystal Palace asked for Saturday’s fixture to be brought forward, so it will now kick off at 8pm at Elland Road to aid preparation for Tuesday’s League Cup quarter-final against Arsenal.
That leaves Palace with only 48 hours between Thursday’s Europa Conference League home game with KuPS and their trip to Leeds, with Oliver Glasner planning different XIs.
Gabriel Gudmundsson hobbled off late against Brentford and James Justin came on. Daniel Farke suggested it was cramp and not serious, adding the left-back should be fine to continue as usual this week. Possible return date: December 20 vs Crystal Palace.
Lukas Nmecha has missed the last two matches with a hamstring issue that is not considered long term. Farke expects him to rejoin team training this week after recent individual work. Possible return date: December 20 vs Crystal Palace.
Sean Longstaff is not expected back before the end of 2025, with January viewed as his best shot. He suffered a calf injury after playing the full 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa last month. Possible return date: January.
Daniel James is targeting February, with at least another six weeks out in the best case. Surgery was avoided on a tendon-related hamstring issue. He started for the first time since August in the 3-2 loss to Manchester City, then went off at half-time. Possible return date: February.
