Leeds United line-up vs Sunderland confirmed as summer arrivals handed first starts | OneFootball

Leeds United have confirmed their starting XI to face Sunderland at New Jersey's Sports Illustrated Stadium. Both summer arrivals make their first starts as they seek a first pre-season win.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, last weekend's US tour opener ended in a 3-2 defeat to Wrexham in Tampa, with Joel Piroe and Sean Longstaff scoring in an entertaining game.

Daniel Farke named a much-changed side for that game, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jaka Bijol missing through minor injuries. Only Ao Tanaka featured from the World Cup quartet, while new signing Harry Wilson came on at half-time.

Tonight Wilson is on the right, Luka Nmecha leads the line, and Callum Mills is the only academy player in the XI. Captain Ethan Ampadu is on the bench, with Tanaka alongside last weekend's scorer Longstaff in midfield, and Jayden Bogle plus Gabriel Gudmundsson at wing-back.

At the back, £34million recruit Tarik Muharemovic lines up in a three with Joe Rodon and Sebastiaan Bornauw, and Alex Cairns is in goal. Substitutes include Mahady, Ombang and Justin, plus Lane, Lienou and Cresswell, with Ampadu, Crew and Stach also named. Gnonto, Pickles, James, Chadwick and Piroe complete the bench.
