As Leeds United begin pre-season, bookmakers have set next season’s relegation prices. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, they amount to a fairly strong call on the club’s prospects of staying up for a second straight year.
Daniel Farke’s side are on tour in the USA and open against Wrexham at 12.30am UK time on Sunday. Sunderland and then Liverpool follow, before home friendlies with RB Leipzig and FC Augsburg, either side of facing Manchester United in Dublin.
After Augsburg, Leeds start their second campaign back in the top flight away to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 22.
Forest used four managers in a relegation fight last term, finishing fifth-bottom, one point above Tottenham and three behind newly promoted Leeds, who were two clear of Crystal Palace.
Leeds ended two points shy of both Everton and Newcastle United, and seven behind fellow newcomers Sunderland, who secured Europa League football with a seventh-placed finish.
Based on relegation prices, the implied table is topped by Arsenal at 1000-1 to go down, followed by Liverpool at 750-1 and Manchester United at 750-1. Chelsea are 150-1, Aston Villa 100-1 and Tottenham Hotspur 50-1.
