Leeds United are in contract talks with goalkeeper Karl Darlow as his deal expires at the end of the month. According to Leeds Live, the club want to keep the 35-year-old amid recent Premier League interest.
Darlow displaced summer signing Lucas Perri as first choice in January, then registered five clean sheets in 22 Premier League matches. One stop against Wolves was shortlisted for save of the season.
Across three seasons under Daniel Farke, he has begun as back-up but, in the last two, finished as the starter. The manager indicated last month that he would like Darlow to stay.
Talks are also taking place with defender Sam Byram and reserve goalkeeper Alex Cairns, with their contracts nearing expiry. Byram made two late-substitute league appearances last season and five outings in total.
Cairns, an academy graduate, has not featured since returning in 2024 but is valued for his off-field influence in a high-morale squad. The 33-year-old is tasked with warming up the primary goalkeepers on matchdays.
With Illan Meslier set to leave at the end of his contract, Leeds, as things stand, will have only one senior goalkeeper, Perri, on the books by 1 July, though there is hope that at least one more option can be retained.
