Leeds United have named their side to face Liverpool, with Tarik Muharemovic starting and last season’s top scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin fit to return on the bench. Kick-off at Soldier Field, Chicago is at 9pm UK time.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the game ends the Whites’ USA tour, after a 3-2 loss to Wrexham and a 1-0 win over Sunderland.
Harry Wilson debuted from the bench against Wrexham, while Muharemovic started against Sunderland and keeps his place.
It looks like a back three of Joe Rodon, Muharemovic and likely James Justin, with Sebastiaan Bornauw on the bench. Gabriel Gudmundsson and Jayden Bogle are the wing-backs.
Ethan Ampadu returns in midfield for Sean Longstaff, with Ao Tanaka kept in. Anton Stach also starts, and Farke appears to favour a midfield three unless Stach plays inside wide. Daniel James replaces Wilson, and Lukas Nmecha leads the line after netting the Sunderland winner.
Encouragingly, Brenden Aaronson joins Calvert-Lewin among the substitutes, so any first minutes for either would come from the bench. Leeds return home after this, then face RB Leipzig at Elland Road next Saturday, Manchester United in Dublin on Wednesday 12 August and FC Augsburg the next Saturday.
Starting XI: Cairns, Justin, Rodon, Muharemovic, Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Stach, Gudmundsson, James, Nmecha. Subs: Mahady, Ombang, Lane, Lienou, Cresswell, Bornauw, Crew, Longstaff, Aaronson, Gnonto, Pickles, Wilson, Chadwick, Mills, Calvert-Lewin, Piroe.
