Leeds United prospect Harry Gray is close to joining Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan, reuniting with former Leeds captain Liam Cooper.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the Owls have beaten fellow League One suitors Huddersfield Town, with a deal between the clubs nearing completion and the 17-year-old in agreement.

Gray sampled regular senior football at Rotherham United last season, making 20 appearances and scoring three. The Millers were relegated amid managerial change and injuries across the squad.

Leeds had earmarked a second loan for 2026/27, again in League One. Wednesday are at the outset of a new era following a takeover, despite their relegation into League One from the Championship.

Gray will link up with Henrik Pedersen’s squad, already back in training, as he looks to build experience in what is expected to be a promotion push. Cooper has signed a new deal after a short-term stint that brought 14 appearances.
