Leeds United will keep a close eye on Switzerland’s meeting with Norway this evening amid reports Noah Okafor suffered a training knock last week.
Neue Zürcher Zeitung reports that he was due to feature against Germany on Friday but sustained an issue in the warm-up, leaving him unused as Germany won 4-3. Leeds midfielder Anton Stach played the final 10 minutes for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.
Okafor received his first Switzerland call-up since November 2024 earlier this month, replacing the injured Filip Ugrinić. The winger had been out of favour amid a strained relationship with Murat Yakin over game time and communication, but four Premier League goals in 24 appearances for Leeds revived his case and he posted that his World Cup dream remains alive.
The current problem is described as a knock, which suggests nothing serious but leaves his involvement tonight in doubt. He only recently returned from a hamstring injury that sidelined him for five Leeds matches.
Clarity is expected at 5pm when the teams are released. Leeds are not back in Premier League action for almost two weeks, though they travel to West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Gudmundsson sustained a knock and was substituted in Sweden’s play-off win over Ukraine, but he has since played down fears before tonight’s final against Poland. Wales are also monitoring Daniel James after close to 90 minutes in the penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina, following the hamstring tendon injury he suffered in November at Manchester City.
