Leeds United will continue to monitor Southampton star Cameron Archer’s situation after their initial approach was rejected, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Daniel Farke’s side want to add a centre forward to their squad to add more firepower in their attacking department.
Leeds have a longstanding interest in Southampton star Cameron Archer, who joined Saints in the summer.
Archer has scored only twice for Saints in the league and has started only ten times for them.
Leeds approached Southampton with an offer to take Archer on loan which Southampton promptly rejected.
It has been claimed that the Whites, despite being refused, will continue monitoring Archer’s situation at St Mary’s.
Southampton are fighting for their survival in the Premier League and they do not want to let Archer go.
Saints have already sanctioned a loan spell for Ben Brereton Diaz to Leeds’ promotion rivals Sheffield United in the ongoing window.
