Leeds United are expected to revive their pursuit of Harry Wilson after his Fulham exit, with the club’s Welsh core viewed as a possible advantage.
Sky Sports reports that Leeds are ‘working on’ a potential deal, although competition is anticipated from Premier League sides higher up the table and with bigger budgets.
Leeds saw a deadline-day bid fall through last year, when the winger had 12 months left on his Fulham contract, after a campaign of 10 goals and seven assists.
“It’s always a factor having the other Welsh players there. You speak to your teammates when you’re away on international duty.” The former Arsenal and Leicester City striker was speaking to BestBesttingSites.
“To go from Fulham to Leeds, I mean on paper it’s not a step up,” he added. “I think he might have other offers because he’s a very good player, Harry Wilson, who can do spectacular things. But the fact his international teammates are there doesn’t hurt at all.”
Leeds captain Ethan Ampadu indicated during the June internationals that he has been selling the club to Wales teammates, describing an Elland Road move as an easy sell after signing a four-year deal.
