Leeds United host relegated Burnley at Elland Road on Friday, aiming to edge closer to Premier League safety after last week’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth took them to 40 points. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, both camps are juggling injuries.
Daniel Farke will be without at least two first team players. Ilia Gruev’s season ended last week, while Gabriel Gudmundsson has a hamstring problem and is out for at least the next two games. There were also worrying updates on two further key men, though Anton Stach has returned.
Burnley have confirmed absentees. Captain Josh Cullen sustained an ACL injury in December and required surgery, with months of rehab still ahead. Jordan Beyer is sidelined after a meniscus injury in October 2023 followed by a hamstring issue last summer, and Parker said last month that Connor Roberts was in the early stages of recovery from an Achilles problem before confirming last week he remains unavailable.
Doubts include Zeki Amdouni, who is back in training after a summer ACL and could feature before the season ends. Hannibal Mejbri has not played since a hamstring injury at Fulham last month, and Parker suggested the Leeds game is a more realistic target and that they hope to have him involved. Axel Tuanzebe has been out since February with an Achilles issue despite featuring for DR Congo in March, and the exact problem and severity remain unclear.
Farke wants that extra win as soon as possible, but these knocks leave selection calls for both sides.
