Leicester City are reportedly set to sign winger Tommy Watson on loan to bolster Russell Martin’s wide options for 2026/27.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the 20-year-old is set to join for the new campaign, with claims an agreement has been reached between City and his Premier League club.
Watson moved to the Amex Stadium last summer after hitting Sunderland’s stoppage-time decider in last season’s Championship play-off final at Wembley.
Opportunities under Fabian Hurzeler have been limited. The left winger made 10 appearances for the Seagulls, then spent the second half of last season on loan at Millwall in the Championship.
Attacking additions remain a priority for Leicester after the arrivals of Conor Chaplin, Alex McCarthy and Christian McFarlane. During last week’s training camp in Spain, Martin admitted he wanted more firepower across his frontline.
A right-footed wideman who prefers the left, Watson would address a shortage in that area. Stephy Mavididi is the club’s only natural senior left-wing option following Jeremy Monga’s departure.
