Leicester City sign Spurs full-back Neville | OneFootball

Leicester City have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ashleigh Neville on a permanent deal.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this afternoon.

Leicester City have paid an undisclosed fee to Tottenham Hotspur to secure the player’s services on a permanent basis. The 32-year-old has signed an 18-month deal at The King Power Stadium.

Neville has spent eight-and-a-half years with Spurs after joining the club from Coventry United in summer 2017. The defender was a promotion-winner with The Lilywhites in 2018/2019 and she has since established herself as a household name in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

Many tipped Neville for international honours with England given the high level of some of her performances for Spurs, however, a call-up has never been forthcoming.

Neville will now hope to shine in the East Midlands with new club Leicester City.

After joining The Foxes, Neville said ‘This is a new challenge, and I want to help the team put as many points on the board as possible. I’m hoping that the experience I have both on and off the pitch can help.

“Now is the right time for a new challenge and I’m looking forward to seeing what this new chapter will bring.”

Neville is Leicester City’s third January transfer window signing.
