Leicester City are exploring a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Justin Devenny this summer, according to LeicesterMercury.co.uk.

The Foxes are planning a major rebuild for 2026/27 in League One, with multiple departures expected. Early links included Davis Keillor-Dunn and Conor Chaplin, but attention has shifted to midfield, with Devenny emerging as a fresh option.

He could leave Selhurst Park if the right offer arrives. The 22-year-old has featured 60 times over the past two seasons for the Eagles.

Devenny lifted the FA Cup in 2024/25 and helped Palace win the Conference League the previous term. Even so, Adam Wharton, Daichi Kamada, Cheick Doucoure, Jefferson Lerma and Will Hughes all logged more minutes under Oliver Glasner.

Palace now have Pierre Sage in charge, last season’s Ligue 1 Manager of the Year, and sales could follow as changes take hold. City are thought to view Devenny as an ideal box-to-box presence given his ability and work rate.

Midfield depth at Leicester is light. Jordan James has returned to Rennes after his loan and there is uncertainty over Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp’s futures in LE2.

Landing Devenny would be seen as a statement for a League One side, and his energy could address a long-standing gap. Championship clubs are likely to show interest, and it is unclear whether he would drop down after a European win. If City manage it, this could prove their standout business.
