Leicester report illustrates rampant club shortcomings

There is plenty of blame to go around at Leicester. Most aspects require vast improvement. Relevancy beyond national embarrassment looks far away at the moment. Play on the pitch is what many see. These issues go deeper. Unfortunately for those at the club, fans are getting a peek behind the curtain. What's been unveiled isn't serving as a shock to anyone. Instead, it only confirms what has been believed for a while now.

Disorganization is rampant throughout LCFC. This has been true before Ruud van Nistelrooy took over and since. The Telegraph's Sam Wallace gave specifics. A main takeaway seems to have been Jannik Vestergaard bringing his dog to the training grounds.

Permission was granted. It is something of an oddity. And to then ask for one of the player liaison officers to look after it isn't necessarily a great look. This was explained by the Danish player not having anyone else to look after his furry friend at the time. But prior approval had been given.

This is a fun wrinkle in the story, but nothing more. Instead, the emphasized takeaway should be the other aspects from the article.

Important Leicester takeaways

The new manager spoke to Vestergaard and Conor Coady about staying closer to the training grounds. And this isn't a critique of where the players choose to live or their commute time. Rather, it speaks to the overall lack of team chemistry. Every onlooker can see how disconnected the Foxes are.

RvN reportedly asked for the two furthest-living players to simply spend more time around the grounds. Lack of morale is clear. And repeatedly losing makes it difficult. But treating playing for Leicester like a 9-5 job contributes to the continued downfall.

Van Nistelrooy is correct in asking for the players to not be so eager to leave just as soon as a training session wraps up. It's naturally understandable why anyone living so far away would want to. Not only is the atmosphere terrible, but it's a long drive back and forth even in the best of times.

However, now more than ever, comforts and convenience need to be cast aside. And those left of the squad need to show a renewed dedication to the club.

This disconnect revealed itself during a substitution against West Ham. While being subbed out, Vestergaard apparently ignored RvN's handshake. Something of a commonplace at all levels of the sports. Overlooking a simple gesture from time to time can happen, but many are suggesting that it points out how the new boss has failed to earn the respect of this group.

Granted, the Dutch manager isn't doing himself any favors either. He allegedly presented a new tactical formation. This came after suggesting only a slight tweak would happen. This too illustrates the overall incohesion that is present for the East Midlands side.
