Leicester told to sign rival team's star striker Haji Wright

Scoring goals has been difficult for Leicester City this season. In fact, since legendary ex-Manchester United goalscorer Ruud van Nistelrooy arrived, LCFC almost stopped scoring altogether! Maybe the Dutchman's apparent 'obsession with defensive structure' is the reason for that. Though defending is proving to be as awkward as netting under Van Nistelrooy.

Basically Jamie Vardy needs some help up top before he eventually hangs up his distinguished boots. Zambian forward Patson Daka is seemingly out of his depth. Not to mention loanee attacker Odsonne Edouard appearing well off the pace. Though the Frenchman was never afforded a real opportunity to shine on Filbert Way. This leaves City with only JV9 really, and he is 38 years old. Obviously it is going to be extremely hard to let Vardy go eventually. Yet the former England international will retire or leave one day.

So what's next for the Foxes front line? Essentially fresh blood is required at King Power Stadium - in every department. But centre forwards are arguably top of the list of priorities. I have a few ideas for the east Midlands team: employing the 'moneyball approach' as they did in summer 2015 is best policy right now. Unearthing a few gems would be ideal in LCFC's precarious Profit and Sustainability situation.

Leicester City told to sign Haji Wright, one of rivals Coventry's star players

Haji Wright has been a regular for the United States Men's National Team. He also possesses a great record in England's second division as well: a goal every other game this campaign.

Could Wright be a potential successor to Vards? The former definitely has the pace, finishing ability and appetite to lead an EPL side:

"Targeting Coventry’s Haji Wright would not only get City one of the best all-around strikers in the Championship, but would also infuriate their neighbours down the M69. The rivalry between the clubs would provide an extra barrier to a potential deal, one that City were in fact linked to in January. The timing and the finances weren't right then, and City weren't in need of a striker either. But they may be this summer should Jamie Vardy depart."Leicestershire Live
