Leicester City are seeking to end their five-game losing streak in the Premier League on Wednesday evening when they host Crystal Palace.

After a mini new manager bounce following Ruud van Nistelrooy's arrival, Leicester have reverted to type over the past month. The Foxes have faced some challenging fixtures against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United, but have rarely challenged during disappointing defeats.

Saturday's 6-2 FA Cup third-round victory over Queens Park Rangers during a foggy afternoon at the King Power Stadium was needed, but Palace will pose a much sterner challenge than their fellow Londoners.

Oliver Glasner's side have restored their pride following an underwhelming start to the season and now sit seven points above Leicester heading into Wednesday's clash. Leicester are still without some key first-teamers for Wednesday's duel, with first-choice goalkeeper Mads Hermansen a significant absentee. Ricardo Pereira is also unavailable in the backline, but Jannik Vestergaard is expected to be involved in some capacity against Palace according to Van Nistelrooy.

Further forward, Wilfred Ndidi is absent in midfield and Abdul Fatawu is unlikely to play again this season after suffering an ACL injury in November. Odsonne Edouard was unlikely to feature regardless but is ineligible to face his parent club.

Palace have been struggling with illness recently but Glasner has confirmed that those missing from the weekend's FA Cup win over Stockport County with flu should all return. That includes Jean-Philippe Mateta, who scored a brace in the reverse fixture.

The Austrian also revealed that Will Hughes will feature in the squad once more having been absent since the final match of last year. However, Adam Wharton will continue to watch from the sidelines as he recovers from a knee problem, with early February pencilled in for his return.

A visit from Palace is exactly the sort of fixture they must win - or at the very least not lose - if they are to avoid a return to the Championship.

Palace have been resurgent over the past two months but have still struggled for victories. They have settled for plenty of draws, with goalscoring and chance creation both longstanding issues.
