The Red Devils snapped up the French starlet from under Real Madrid’s noses in the summer of 2024.

After a mixed start to his time at the Theatre of Dreams, Yoro has become a key member of the first-team squad this season.

Growing in stature at Old Trafford

Yoro has been outstanding this season in the right-sided centre-back role under Ruben Amorim. The Frenchman was particularly impressive in United’s 2-0 win over Sunderland last month.

Yoro has featured in all 11 of the Red Devils’ Premier League games this campaign, starting seven of them. He was also shortlisted for the Golden Boy Award, which was ultimately won by Desire Doue.

Leny Yoro Stats: 2025/26 Season

Yoro’s performances have kept Harry Maguire on the bench this season, although the experienced Englishman has stepped in for the youngster in some of the crunch games.

Having just crossed his teens, Yoro has already featured 44 times for United in his career, and has also registered a goal and an assist.

The French defender recently sat down with the club’s media and shed light on his expectations for the future.

Excited about the days ahead

Speaking to United’s website, the French defender expressed hope that the team will do well in the future.

“Of course (when asked if he was excited by what lies ahead after this landmark birthday). I’m always positive about this. I think the team is going to do really well in the future, even here in the present,” said Yoro.

“So, first, I face every day slowly and I am not watching [out] too much for the future. I’m just ready for tomorrow and ready for today. I think the team is going to do better in the future, of course, and everyone needs things like this.”

The Frenchman’s recovery pace has been a real asset for Amorim’s side so far. Yoro reads the game very well, is comfortable on the ball and has already shown maturity beyond his years.

While he is not the finished article yet, there’s no doubt that the Red Devils have one of the finest young defenders on their hands.
