Leonardo Jardim says the decision on Everton Cebolinha’s contract rests with Flamengo’s board, though he is pleased to have the winger in his squad following the club’s Carioca title.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the coach spoke after the final and praised Cebolinha’s contribution. The forward began the clássico on the bench, came on in the second half and converted in the shootout that sealed the trophy.

On performance, he said he is content with options on the left. He noted Cebolinha replaced Lino without dropping intensity and indicated there will be rotation between the pair in future. In his set-up, wide players must defend and attack, so depth is welcome.

Cebolinha’s future remains uncertain, with his deal running only until year-end and the club still weighing whether to extend. The player has previously said he would not stay beyond this year and that he had not been contacted about a new agreement.
