Leonardo Jardim steps up Flamengo preparations for Vitória after 1-1 Internacional draw | OneFootball

Flamengo have ramped up preparations under Leonardo Jardim for Sunday’s Brasileirão meeting with Vitória, after a 1-1 draw with Internacional in round 21.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the squad reported back to Ninho do Urubu on Monday 3rd, with a 10:00 Brasília time session scheduled for Tuesday 4th. Jardim will then have four further days to fine-tune the side before the 22nd-round fixture.

Because of the Copa do Brasil round of 16, Flamengo have a 10-day gap between league matches. Having been knocked out of the cup, their focus is now on the Brasileirão and the Libertadores.

The Vitória match is set for 19:30 Brasília time on Sunday 9th at the Maracanã. SporTV on subscription and Premiere via pay-per-view will broadcast the game.

Lucas Paquetá has recovered from injury and on Monday 3rd held a press conference about his return to action for Flamengo. His availability gives Jardim a significant boost at a pivotal stage in the league, alongside a Libertadores decision next week.

The draw with Internacional, combined with Palmeiras’ win over Vitória, leaves Flamengo second on 39 points, with Palmeiras leading on 47.
