The 31 May 2026 front page hails PSG’s latest Champions League triumph under ‘Les Invincibles’, a nod to Arsenal, after a final that initially went against them.

L'Équipe notes that Arsenal have finally followed their 2004 “Invincibles” by winning the league unbeaten. They also avoided defeat in this Champions League and came close to a Premier League and European double in Budapest.

In the final, the Londoners led, and as the shootout began they still had a one in two chance, yet PSG proved the tougher, winning 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Despite two group-phase defeats, 1-2 to Bayern and 1-2 at Sporting in Lisbon, PSG did not lose again in the competition.

A year earlier at Munich’s Allianz Arena they had been irresistible against Inter, winning 5-0. This time their refusal to yield made them look invincible, and a trophy presentation image by photographer Stéphane Mantey completed the cover.
