According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Liam Rosenior says Chelsea will be without winger Jamie Gittens for Leeds United's visit to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday after a hamstring tear.

Chelsea visit bottom side Wolves this weekend before hosting their old rivals.

Rosenior described Gittens' setback as longer term and a big miss, calling it a real shame for a player he has worked with only briefly and rates highly.

Gittens set up Chelsea's sole goal in their 3-1 defeat at Elland Road earlier this season, one of five assists in 27 appearances.

Rosenior is weighing rotation and workload. He said on Friday he could not yet say if Reece James or Pedro Neto would be fit to face Wolves, with both to be assessed before Saturday's trip to Wolverhampton.

Chelsea are carefully managing Cole Palmer game to game, guided by medical and sports science testing. The forward wants to play every minute but has bought into the plan and the wider view of his career.

Though knocked out of the League Cup by Arsenal this week, Chelsea remain in the FA Cup and have the Champions League last 16 ahead. With the World Cup in the summer, Rosenior said he is mindful that some players had the Club World Cup and no summer break, and he wants their wellbeing protected.
