Rayan Cherki has been heralded as one of the most exciting young talents coming through in Ligue 1 for several years now.

The 21-year-old Olympique Lyon starlet has already made more than 150 senior appearances for the club, scoring 19 and assisting 28 goals in the process.

Naturally, the versatile attacking midfielder has attracted interest from several big clubs across Europe.

However, according to L’Equipe, Rayan Cherki ‘dreams’ of playing for Real Madrid at some point in his career even as he is attracting interest from Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

Back in 2021, the French prodigy had revealed how Los Blancos are his dream team and that his ultimate goal is to play for the ‘biggest club in the world’.

“We all know that the club of my dreams is Real Madrid. Joining the biggest club in the world would be great. That’s the perfect route, what I have in my head. Every morning I get up for that, to fulfil my dreams,” he had said.

Cherki, 21, is a player capable of playing as a No. 10 or on the flanks or even as a false nine if need be. That sort of versatility, coupled with plenty of experience in Europe, could make him an appealing target for top clubs.

As far as Real Madrid are concerned, there has been no interest in acquiring Cherki for now and they are unlikely to be in the market for attacking reinforcements at this point, with other areas like defence needing urgent attention.

However, if the 21-year-old, who has two goals and five assists from 11 games this term, continues to develop like this, the Merengues could take an interest in the future.
