Konradinho, Laimerson – or simply Alpine Zidane: Konrad Laimer's nicknames came quickly after his sublime show of skill in the emphatic 5-0 win at VfB Stuttgart. The Austrian, who normally impresses at FC Bayern with his willingness to put in the legwork and tackle, showed off his finesse this time and scored with a deft back-heel to give the Munich men a 1-0 lead. The 28-year-old had initiated the move himself with a pass to Michael Olise on the wing before finishing from the return pass in inimitable style.

Laimer's 'Ferserl’, as it's known in his homeland, also greatly impressed the German record champions’ fans, who chose it as their FC Bayern Goal of the Month for December. Laimer received just under 59 per cent of the votes cast, beating the equally impressive goals from Lennart Karl (24 per cent) to make it 2-1 in the Champions League clash with Sporting Lisbon and Giulia Gwinn (12 per cent) to make it 1-0 in the Bundesliga clash with Hamburger SV.

With his second goal of the season, Konrad Laimer once again underlined his versatility. Capable of playing in almost any position, he impressed up front this time round with his elegance and clinical finishing.
