Lille request the postponement of PSG clash before Champions League tie | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe,  Lille have requested the postponement of their Ligue 1 clash against PSG which is scheduled to take place on the 1st of March ahead of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Borussia Dortmund on the 4th of March.

In a bid to strengthen the chances of the two remaining clubs representing Ligue 1 in Europe’s premier competition, Les Dogues have requested that the LFP postpone the match to allow both teams more time to prepare for their respective clashes. Les Parisiens are set to take on Liverpool in the Round of 16.

Following precedent

Last season, Ligue 1 clashes were suspended to allow teams participating in European competition to have extra time to get ready for their respective clashes. Although a precedent has already been set for teams in continental competition, it remains to be seen whether LFP will grant Lille’s request for a postponement.
