According to L'Équipe, the Ligue 1 meeting between Lille and Lens was briefly halted on Saturday after homophobic chants from Lille ultras.
The derby du Nord had already seen a banner episode and an initial delay before kick-off, when flares reduced visibility.
From the 35th minute, play was paused again for a few minutes. M.Letexier approached the stadium announcer at Stade Pierre-Mauroy to urge LOSC ultras to stop the homophobic chants aimed at the opponents.
The match restarted after about three minutes.
In total, nine minutes of stoppage time were added following these external incidents.
