A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid is the subject of an ongoing transfer push by way of MLS side Inter Miami.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who highlights Rodrigo De Paul as the player in question.

Argentine international De Paul is for his part fresh off playing a starring role for Atlético once more this past season.

All told, across all competitions, the 31-year-old racked up a hefty 53 appearances.

34 such outings came in La Liga, with De Paul having continued to contribute in the attacking third to the tune of eight direct goal involvements.

As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, then the former Udinese man could nevertheless bring a close to the Atlético chapter of his career over the coming weeks.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Understand Inter Miami have started talks with Atlético Madrid for Rodrigo De Paul deal! Inter Miami want to keep its ambitions high after the Club World Cup with WC champion De Paul as main target.’

De Paul, for his part, is labelled as ‘open’ to a move to Florida, where he would reunite with international teammate and friend Lionel Messi:
