Liverpool and Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs considering an approach for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.
The Spanish side are understood to be open to the potential sale of Kounde if a significant offer arrives, in order to raise funds for new additions.
His potential availability has alerted English teams, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that Manchester City are also monitoring the situation. Kounde had previously been considered untouchable at the Camp Nou.
Chelsea are long-term admirers of the France international, while Liverpool are in the market for defensive additions.
Kounde’s ability to play at right-back and in central defence appeal to the Reds, who are seeking depth amid uncertainty over the futures of Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez.
Kounde has made 181 appearances for Barcelona since signing from Sevilla in 2022, twice winning the La Liga title. He has been named in Spanish football’s Team of the Season on three occasions.
