Manchester United are ready to steal a star and Liverpool could miss out. €50m worth of winger.

Liverpool could miss out on a move for Francisco Conceicao. The Juventus star has been consistently linked with a move to Anfield since Mo Salah announced he will leave the club.

Now Gazzetta Dello Sport reiterates that Liverpool hold an interest in Conceicao. They claim Juve would ask for at least €45m but probably closer to €50m to get a deal done.

And that figure could still rise, should the winger perform at the World Cup with Portugal. Not a cheap player, then, particularly when he's only scored three times in Serie A this season and assisted another four.

But there's another reason why that price might go up: Manchester United. Gazzetta claim United have now entered the race and hope to beat Liverpool to Conceicao this summer.

They'll certainly have a chance at doing that. Both are set to be UEFA Champions League teams next season and we don't believe that Conceicao is actually very high up on Liverpool's shortlist.

Importantly, all reports linking him with a move to Anfield have come from Italy. It's possible that the Reds drop €50m on Conceicao but likely? We're not sure.

United's interest would be concerning if Liverpool are eager to sign the player. We just find that a little hard to believe.
