Liverpool could make a move for Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton in the January transfer window.

Arne Slot wants to add another option to his engine room and Wharton is a player the Reds are considering. The 21-year-old has impressed since stepping up to the Premier League from Blackburn Rovers, breaking into the England set-up.

DaveOCKOP has claimed Liverpool have a ‘genuine interest’ in Wharton and believes a deal could be done for around £60m plus add-ons.

It is understood the Premier League champions feel a fee similar to the deal that took Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace to Arsenal could be agreed.

There is also belief inside Liverpool that the Reds are Wharton’s preferred destination, despite rival interest from clubs including Manchester United. A January approach is being considered, though a summer move is more probable.

Liverpool also retain interest in signing Marc Guehi from Palace. The England international underwent a medical with Liverpool on transfer deadline day. However, Palace’s failure to sign a replacement ended hopes of a deal. Guehi has entered the final season of his contract and will be available on a free transfer in 2026.
