Arne Slot says Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez might not be ready to play against Fulham on Saturday.

Both started in the 2-0 Champions League defeat to PSG on Wednesday and Slot says the quick turnaround could be too much for them both.

“Yesterday was a recovery day and let’s see where a few of our players are,” the Liverpool boss said ahead of the game.

“I’m not telling you for the first time that not all of our players are able and capable of playing three days after an intense game.

“Let’s see what the line-up brings this time.

“Two of the players I’m of course worried about for tomorrow will be Jeremie Frimpong and Joe Gomez.”

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alisson will miss out again, but Slot is excited to have Alexander Isak back available after returning to action from the bench against PSG.

“Alisson is working hard to find his way back into the squad so that’s really positive, but he will not be in the squad this weekend yet,” Slot said.

“That Alex is available for us again is vital of course because I’ve said many times that it has been hard for us to convert chances into goals and he’s been a goalscorer his whole life.

“Hopefully we can progress his minutes and he can grow to his form as soon as possible. The last time it took him a while but we are hoping after the great rehab period he had with the people here that we can bring him faster to the level we want him to be.”
