Liverpool striker Jayden Danns has signed a new deal with Adidas until 2029. The youngster looks set for a bright future.
Jayden Danns will be an Adidas footballer until 2029. That’s according to Lewis Bower on Twitter.
Danns has been with Adidas for a little bit now, but it appears they’ve moved to lock the teenager down. It comes despite his injury - one that’s kept him out for the entire season.
A stress fracture in Dann’s back is healing up but he’s been unable to capitalise on his strong start to senior football last season. The striker already has two goals for Liverpool - both in an FA Cup tie against Southampton - and appeared in the triumphant EFL Cup final against Chelsea. His efforts even had Roy Keane calling him 'amazing'.
His appearances died down after that but given he only turns 19 in January, Danns' future feels incredibly bright. Adidas certainly believe so.
Liverpool know they have something in Danns. He was signed to a long-term contract back in March and the hope will be that he returns from his injury and quickly gets back into it at Under 21 level.
Then the FA Cup games will be floating about - and perhaps Danns can get a similar opportunity to last season. Though, it remains to be seen how Arne Slot wants to tackle that. He may not be quite as comfortable playing the kids as Jurgen Klopp was.
What's certainly true, however, is that Danns is a player with a lot of potential and we want to see him back in the senior setup soon. Slot's debut campaign is a testing ground for all and big changes may be on the way next year.
Danns will want to position himself well for those changes. If a spot opens up for a striker, the Scouser has shown before that he's able to fill it.
