Liverpool have been hit with a serious injury blow as Brazil international goalkeeper Alisson Becker (33) will miss out on the Champions League quarter-finals against title holders Paris Saint-Germain. PSG host Arne Slot’s Premier League champions on Wednesday, April 8 with the return leg to be held at Anfield on Tuesday, April 16.

The Reds were indebted to a supreme goalkeeping performance from Alisson last year in the Champions League RO16 first leg at PSG’s Parc des Princes, but Liverpool’s Dutch head coach said that Alisson won’t be called upon against Les Parisiens as he continues his rehabilitation process following an unspecified injury. “He will not be part of the Paris Saint-Germain games. He will be out for a bit longer. Towards the end of the season we expect him to be fit again“, Slot said regarding Alisson’s fitness.
