Liverpool have been knocked out of the Champions League by Paris. St Germain for the second straight year after a 2-0 loss at Anfield.
Arne Slot’s side needed a spectacular comeback after losing the first leg in Paris 2-0, but Ousmane Dembele’s late double ensured the reigning Champions League winners progressed to the semi finals.
To make matters worse, striker Hugo Ekitike was forced off on a stretcher in the first half after suffering a serious looking injury.

Mo Salah replaced him, and almost made an instant impact when his cross caused chaos in the PSG box, with Marquinhos making a stunning late challenge to deny Virgil van Dijk an opener.
Liverpool huffed and puffed but were unable to find a way through, though thought they had a penalty in the second half when the referee pointed to the spot after Alexis Mac Allister had gone down under pressure from Marquinhos, only for the referee to overturn his decision.
And Dembele ended any hopes of a comeback with a well taken low strike on 72 minutes, before adding another in second-half stoppage time when he turned in Bradley Barcola’s cross.
