Liverpool have made an approach to sign AS Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche, as the club seek a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Andoni Iraola has made the signing of a right-winger the focus for Liverpool this summer, following Salah's departure at Anfield.
Akliouche has been tracked for some time andSky Sports are reporting that an official enquiry has now been made.
The 24-year-old scored six goals and provided six assists in 31Ligue 1 appearances last season and was part of the France squad at this summer's World Cup. He made his international debut for Les Bleus in September and has since won 10 caps, scoring once.
Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Akliouche and have submitted multiple offers for the Frenchman this summer. The European champion's most recent offer was in the region of €40m (£34m).
Liverpool have turned to Akliouche after top targetYan Diomande declared his desire for a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The French side are targeted both wingers as part of their recruitment drive in this summer's window.
Liverpool had submitted an offer of around £85m for Diomande earlier in the transfer window, but saw the proposal rejected by RB Leipzig.
The Mereysiders have already completed the signing of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz and Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet.
