Liverpool-linked Antoine Semenyo ready to quit Bournemouth, says Ghana head coach | OneFootball

Ghana head coach Otto Addo has said that Antoine Semenyo is ready to take the next step in his career and move away from Bournemouth. 

Addo told The Athletic of Semenyo’s club future after Friday’s World Cup draw, which saw Ghana drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama. 

The Black Stars’ head coach said: “He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they ‘re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step.”  

Semenyo has been earning rave reviews with his performances in the Premier League since joining the Cherries in January 2023. 

He has been particularly impressive this campaign, bagging six goals and three assists in 13 top-flight appearances. 

The 25-year-old is contracted with Bournemouth until 2030, but the club will be powerless to stop him from leaving due a £65 million release clause in his deal. 

Semenyo has many admirers in the Premier League, with Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all linked with an interest. 

The Reds look to have an advantage in the race for the Ghana international due to sporting director Richard Hughes. 

The Scottish expert signed Semenyo for Bournemouth during his spell at the Vitality Stadium, and could now look to bring in the forward to Anfield. 

However, Liverpool have spent £450 on new players last summer and they will be reluctant to pay another premium fee for a forward. 

Moreover, the Merseyside titans’ main priority lies in defence and midfield. 

Pep Guardiola’s City need to bolster their fullback options in January, but Semenyo’s move to Tottenham makes sense as they are currently lacking in quality attackers.
