Liverpool have reportedly reaffirmed their support for Arne Slot despite a miserable run of form that has seen the reigning Premier League champions lose six of their last seven games and crash out of the Carabao Cup.

The Reds’ latest setback, a 3-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace, has intensified scrutiny over Slot’s management, just months after he delivered the club’s first league title since 2020.

However, according to BBC Sport, the Anfield hierarchy remains calm and united behind their Dutch manager, insisting that there is “no chance” of his future being reviewed at this stage.

The mood around Anfield has turned uneasy in recent weeks following Liverpool’s alarming dip in form.

Liverpool have struggled to perform this season

After a strong start to the campaign, the champions have suffered four consecutive league defeats, dropping to seventh place in the table, seven points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

The Carabao Cup exit to Palace, which marked the team’s sixth defeat in seven matches, only added to growing concerns among supporters about the team’s lack of direction and consistency.

Slot, who arrived from Feyenoord in the summer of 2024, guided Liverpool to a historic league triumph in his debut season, earning widespread praise for revitalising a squad in transition. But his second campaign has been far more turbulent.

The 3-0 loss to Palace at Anfield highlighted deeper issues, defensive frailties, blunt attacking play, and an apparent lack of confidence.

Despite mounting criticism from fans and pundits, Liverpool’s ownership remains steadfast. BBC Sport reports that Fenway Sports Group (FSG) still have full faith in Slot’s project, noting that he retains “plenty of credit in the bank.”

It’s also understood that Liverpool’s hierarchy recognise the context behind the slump. The summer brought significant change, with multiple first-team departures, new arrivals adapting to the Premier League, and key injuries disrupting momentum.

Having delivered silverware in his debut season, Slot has earned time and understanding from the hierarchy.
