Mohamed Salah - Hugo Ekitike
Recently, Mohamed Salah opened up to the YouTube channel Men in Blazers. The Egyptian star reflected on his on-field relationship with his new French teammate, Hugo Ekitike.
Aware that the connection between himself and Ekitike is not yet at its best, Mo Salah explained. "For now, I haven't quite figured out all the connections yet. Like with Darwin (Nunez), Lucho (Luis Diaz), or the guys who used to play up front, like Diogo (Jota). I knew where to start with Diogo or Darwin, I knew where to find them. I understood their game very well, but with Hugo, it's still new. Sometimes, I need the ball at my feet. Other times, we need it in space." Salah began.
On the other hand, he made it clear that he is actively working to improve this understanding: "We are trying to figure this out, through training sessions and watching videos. The manager shows us. So soon I will get it, because it will help me get better, too." As part of this adaptation process, Hugo Ekitike has already made his mark with two Premier League goals, and Salah remains optimistic about their future partnership.
However, with the arrival of Liverpool's new number 9, Isak, the adaptation process among all the Reds' new forwards could prove challenging.
