The transfer battle for Hugo Ekitiké is ongoing, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Newcastle United all in the mix. No matter where the French striker lands, Paris Saint-Germain will benefit thanks to a 20 percent sell-on clause in his contract.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport Germany previously reported that Ekitiké is one of Liverpool’s top attacking targets. However, the 23-year-old understands that a move to Anfield could depend on whether Darwin Núñez is sold.
According to a recent report from GIVE ME SPORT, Liverpool are prepared to open talks with Eintracht Frankfurt, though any potential deal may hinge on Núñez’s future. The report also notes that Liverpool are open to negotiating, which has encouraged Frankfurt as they stick to their £86 million valuation.
With several new signings already in place, offloading Núñez could be key to clearing space for Ekitiké, who recorded 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances last season.

On Friday, journalist Ben Jacobs reported that Liverpool are optimistic about reaching an agreement with Frankfurt for Ékitiké, having already agreed to personal terms with the player. Frankfurt are known to be meticulous negotiators, and advanced talks were ongoing Friday and could continue through the weekend.
RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported Thursday that Ékitiké has reached an agreement with Liverpool on a six-year contract.
The striker is fully committed to the move and has turned down interest from Manchester United in the past 24 hours. Newcastle have already pulled out of discussions. Talks are still ongoing between Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt as the two clubs work toward a final agreement.
