Paris Saint-Germain had their eye on Dean Huijsen last summer as part of a defensive overhaul, but the Spanish center-back ended up joining AFC Bournemouth instead. If PSG revisits that interest, they’ll be facing some serious competition.

Even after adding Willian Pacho, the club could still look to bring in another center-back—especially with Milan Skriniar expected to leave for good this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, several top clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG, are closely monitoring the young defender.

Huijsen has made a quick impact in the Premier League and is already viewed as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders. If PSG makes another push, it won’t be easy—or cheap.

TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool sees Huijsen as a future leader and possibly the ideal long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk. His contract with Bournemouth includes a £50 million release clause.

Huijsen’s camp says he’s eager to head back to Spain soon, with Real Madrid keeping a close eye on him, according to Marca. Several top Premier League clubs are also monitoring his progress. The Spain international, who turned 20 on Monday, has a £50 million release clause in his Bournemouth contract.

Amid the ongoing transfer rumors linking him to Real Madrid, Huijsen spoke on the show El Chiringuito about playing in the Spanish capital next season (via Mundo Deprtivo).

“A friend told me to go to Real Madrid. It’s a great team—every footballer wants to play for the big clubs—but I don’t know anything. We’ll see.”
