WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this morning.
The 25-year-old joins Liverpool upon the expiry of her contract with German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club SC Freiburg. Borggräfe came through the SC Freiburg academy system before spending time with the club’s second string side. She then became a first team regular for The Black and Whites.
On the international stage, Borggräfe is yet to make her senior debut for Germany but she has forced her way onto the fringes of the national team squad.
After joining Liverpool, Borggräfe said “This means a lot. This is a big club with a big history and I want to be part of that – we never walk alone. I want to have fun playing football and [I] am so happy to now be a part of the Liverpool family.
“I spent 12 years with Freiburg but I think this is the best step for me, to come to Liverpool.
“I’m happy – and a little bit sad to leave friends – but I want to get better and I think this is the best place for me to be here to work hard, get better and make the next big steps for my career.”
Borggräfe is Liverpool’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
