Liverpool have completed the signing of Slovenian international defender Sara Agrež on a free transfer.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.

The 25-year-old will officially join Liverpool on 1 July 2026 following the expiry of her contract with German Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln.

Agrež has spent the last seven years playing her football in Germany in spells with 1. FC Turbine Potsdam, VfL Wolfsburg and latest club 1. FC Köln. She has spent the last two years with The Billy Goats, establishing herself as an important first team player. The player has plenty of experience at the top level and has played UEFA Women’s Champions League football earlier in her career.

On the international stage, Agrež has been capped by Slovenia on 57 occasions at senior level. Agrež has been in and around the senior team environment since being awarded her first call-up in 2017.

Agrež is Liverpool’s second summer transfer window signing. The club have also recently agreed a deal to sign German international forward Vivien Endemann upon the expiry of her contract with VfL Wolfsburg. The Reds are expected to be very active in the upcoming transfer window with head coach Gareth Taylor keen for his side to progress in 2026/2027.
