, Liverpool are targetting Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall for the next season. The former club eyes the player as a potential long-term replacement for Andrew Robertson, who is on the wrong side of 30.

Lewis Hall is doing impressive work

Lewis Hall came through Chelsea academy but failed to establish himself there. Hence, he moved to Newcastle United in the summer of 2023 where he has managed to secure a regular position. The youngster has been quite impressive and is bound to have a bright future ahead.

Hall is having a decent campaign so far where he has five assists in 34 outings so far. He is averaging 2 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, and 2 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).

The English left-back has good pace and stamina which allows him to contribute in both aspects of the game. He reads the game well and puts in valuable tackles. He is alos comfortable on the ball, passing accurate and taking effective set pieces.

A replacement for Andrew Robertson?

Andrew Robertson has been a great servant for Liverpool over the years. However, he is not ageing backwards and has already shown signs of slowing down. Hence, it would be smart for Arne Slot to find a replacement for the left-back.

In that aspect, Lewis Hall could be a perfect name to replace the Scottish. The English left-back is already proving himself in the Premier League and is bound to get better and better. His play of style will be well suited in Slot’s system.

However, the deal very much depends on whether Newcastle United will have a Champions League berth or not. If they manage to finish in the top four, the Magpies wouldn’t be willing to sell one of their hot properties. If not, the player might himself push for an exit to elevate his career further.
