Liverpool celebrate Premier League title win with iconic You’ll Never Walk Alone anthem
Liverpool won the Premier League for the second time in five years, and a 20th top-flight title overall, when they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
The celebrations began as Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah all scored for the Reds who secured the trophy before the end of April and brought manager Arne Slot his first piece of silverware at Anfield.
Slot took over as boss in the summer following the shock departure of Jurgen Klopp last year but he manoeuvred the team that the German had rebuilt and forged them into repeat Premier League champions. Liverpool have an unassailable 82 points with four matches to play and have swept their competition aside with seeming ease this year.
“It is incredible to win this with our fans,” Mo Salah said after victory was confirmed. “This is 100% better than last time [in 2020], especially with the fans. We have a different group now so to show we can do it again is something special.”

From about February, Liverpool’s title never seemed in doubt.
The Reds are phenomenal value for their triumph, having spent 206 days at the top of the Premier League.
That’s 165 days more than any other side managed this season, with Man City spending a comparatively measly 41 at the pinnacle before enduring a mammoth slip.
Dominance.

Five years ago, Liverpool ended their 30-year wait to win a Premier League title. However, they won it in front of no-one.
It never felt quite right - the moment didn’t do the decades of struggle and their remarkable rejuvenation justice.
But yesterday, Liverpool finally got the title they had dreamed of. Celebrated with their own fans in front of a packed-out Anfield, it was perfection.

If Liverpool can finally be called English champions again, you can’t really repeat the old line that they’re back on their perch.
They’re now on a pedestal. They can look down on the rest of the Premier League from high above, finally free to celebrate amid the certainty of victory.
There is also an even better view from that vantage point, that has been surprisingly underplayed in this long run to the title.
