Arne Slot could reward Darwin Nunez after his late heroics at the weekend
Darwin Nunez will hope to lead the line for Liverpool in their Champions League clash against Lille on Tuesday night.
The Uruguayan climbed off the bench at the weekend to break Brentford hearts with two late goals to ensure victory for the Reds.
That result allowed Liverpool to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points.
Nunez has started all but two Champions League games so far this season and he could get the nod once again with Diogo Jota ruled out through injury.
"I don't think it's the first time he is in a situation like this,” Liverpool manager Arne Slot said in the pre-match press conference. “Even this season, he's been in such a situation when Diogo Jota was out for five-six weeks. He has had a long run of games with Jurgen Klopp as well.
"He is in a good place now because he has scored two. At the moment, we have four attackers who are top fit and ready to start. Darwin is one of them.
"Of course, it increases the chance for Darwin to get more playing time if one of them is injured and especially if it's a number nine."

If Nunez is rewarded for his two goals against Brentford with a start, he may be joined in attack by Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo.
Though Liverpool just need a point to qualify for the round of 16, Slot may opt against making too many changes as he aims to maintain the side's 100 percent winning record in the competition.
With that said, he could rotate his full-backs with Conor Bradley and Andrew Robertson coming in for Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas. In addition, Wataru Endo is a potential central defensive partner for Virgil van Dijk to allow Ibrahima Konate a rest after his recent return from injury.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Bradley, Endo, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Nunez
